Thomas Romig

Tommy Romig is one of SSP America’s most accomplished leaders and a proud native of New Orleans who has dedicated his education and career to deliver the same type of extraordinary hospitality and food for which New Orleans is known.

He is the lead on SSP America’s largest concession airport contract and has broad responsibilities for leading a sizeable operation of 600 employees, 45 managers and 23 brands. Tommy has successfully managed a sweeping range of important relationships at PHX including those with unions, brand partners, airport executives and the local community. His team is well known throughout the company for their ability to exceed financial projects, deliver warm hospitality and quality food that reflects a “sense of place” in Phoenix. His team is also inspired to perform an extensive array of community and volunteer work for a wide variety of organizations including St. Joseph the Worker and Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Prior to his leadership at PHX, Tommy was the Regional Director of Operations for SSP America overseeing East Coast airports and served as the General Manager for the Orlando, Florida branch.

Tommy’s street side career gives him tremendous depth and experience having worked for Strategic Restaurants as Regional Manager where he managed a group of national brands reducing crew and management turnover through effective team building, communications and training. He previously worked for Logan’s Roadhouse as Regional Manager where he oversaw six units and was responsible for staff training and education as well as new menu roll out and promotions.

A significant portion of Tommy’s career was spent at the iconic Copeland’s of New Orleans where he held an impressive series of responsibilities with increased responsibilities. He started as the company’s kitchen manager supervising three of Copelands’s kitchens which consistently produced the lowest food and labor costs in the company. By the time he left Copeland’s in 2005, Tommy oversaw the New Orleans territory as Regional Manager increasing sales by 4% and profitability by 5%. Prior to his role as Regional Manager, Tommy also served as the Director of Operations, Franchise Division for New Orleans where he worked with 24 franchisees in the Southeast Region and oversaw $75 million in sales. Previous positions include managing partner and general manager.

Tommy earned his high school diploma from Holy Cross in New Orleans and attended Louisiana State University.  Tommy has an AOS Culinary degree from the Culinary Institute of America.
